Offline mode & sync status

ShowHive is built for venues with bad signal. Here's the model:

  • Before the show: judges open the event on good Wi-Fi — the app downloads an event package (entries, QR codes, scorecards) to the device.
  • During the show: every score saves to the device instantly. No signal needed. A sync queue uploads in the background whenever a connection appears, with automatic retries.
  • No signal all day? Judges can export a checkpoint file (integrity-checked) and hand it to you by AirDrop or file share; import it from Sync status and the scores load as if they had synced.

Reading Sync status

The Sync status screen shows each judge, how many scores they've submitted, what's still pending on their device, and any errors. Green means fully synced. If a judge shows pending items after the show, have them open the app anywhere with signal — the queue drains automatically.

Duplicate uploads are harmless: the server recognizes and skips anything it already has.
